Scott M. Murray, 79, of Nampa, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 in Nampa.  He was born the third of seven children to Owen and Norma Monson Murray on August 8, 1937 in Clifton, ID.

He married Carol Snyder on June 15, 1956 in Nampa.  To this marriage, five beautiful children were born; Robin LeAnne (Chris) Booth of South Carolina, Rick Dee Murray of Nampa, Clint Scott Murray of Nampa, Lyndee Lee (Dan) Ensley of Wilder and Wyndee Lee Ensley of Caldwell.

Scott was a meat cutter at Keims for 30 years. He and Carol, along with their friends, bought a convenience and custom meat cutting store in Nampa after his retirement.

Scott enjoyed racing and training race horses in Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, California, New Mexico and Montana.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years; his five children; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kless Murray of Nampa and Phillip Murray of Ephraim, UT; three sisters, Yvonne Glenn of Provo, UT, Kathy Sorenson of Payson, UT and Melodee Steiner of St. Anthony, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Quinn Murray and one granddaughter, Danielle Ranae Murray.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 17 at 12:30 PM at the funeral home with a procession to Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa.
