We wish to announce the passing of our mother, Alice A. Garlie Dunn. Alice was born in LaMoure, North Dakota on July 4th, 1922. She passed away on May 1, 2022 just short of her 100th birthday.
She married Gordon M. Garlie in 1943, and together they moved to Nampa in 1949 to attend NNU. They had three children: Marilyn (Delbert) Bradley, Judi Russell, and Ron (LaVonne) Garlie. Gordon was in a fatal car/train accident in November 1955.
Agnes (Gram) Pederson, Alice's mother came from North Dakota and moved in to help the family.
Alice worked for Terry's Home Furnishings for 28 years and was very active in College Church of the Nazarene.
In 1969 she married Donald D. Dunn from Caldwell who also had three children: Kathy, Kevin (Virginia), and Kent (Nancy). After retirement, Alice and Don moved to Kauai, Hawaii where Ron's family lived, and spent 15 years enjoying "paradise". They returned to live in Nampa in 2005. Don passed away in 2011.
Alice is survived by her three children, Don's three children, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to Sunny Ridge Retirement and Park Place Assisted Living centers where she lived until her passing. Also to College Church and the many friends from Nampa, Caldwell, and Kauai.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on July 18th, 2022 followed by a Celebration of Life at Liberty Park in Nampa.
