Alma “Irene” Hoskins was born near Greenleaf, ID on September 12, 1923. Irene was the daughter of Leland and Janie Lockwood and younger sister to Cleetis. Irene moved to the Sunny Slope area while in grade school where she met her future husband, Harold Hoskins. Irene graduated from Nampa High School and attended Links School of Business for accounting. Irene did accounting for Huston Store for most of her career along with many other businesses including the IRS. Irene married Harold Hoskins on October 19, 1947. Together they raised four children; Rodney, Kay, Sandra and Dee on their Hoskins Fruit Ranch Homestead. Irene had many hobbies. These included bowling, gardening, camping and sewing. A few of her greatest joys were teaching young children to bowl, including her grandchildren. She loved teaching her children and grandchildren the art of canning. Irene passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2018. She is survived by her four children: Rodney Hoskins, Kay Devries, Sandra Hamilton and Dee (Vernon) Perrigan; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Leland and Janie Lockwood; sister, Cleetis (Doug) Martin and oldest grandson, HD Devries. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa.
