Dennis Wayne Dunn

January 4, 1955 ~ December 8, 2018 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Tribute

Dennis Wayne Dunn, 63, passed suddenly at home in Nampa, Idaho on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Dennis was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on January 4th, 1955 to Gail and Ruby Dunn.  He moved with his family at a young age to California where he enjoyed surfing, sports, and his friends.

After attending schools in California, he began his service in the United States Marine Corps.  He served in multiple deployments including Viet Nam and Cambodia and was the recipient of many medals and honors. Upon his return to civilian life he served as a purchasing agent for a plumbing company, before turning to grocery management.

That career brought him home to Idaho in the early 90’s.  Here he was able to enjoy many years fishing with his father and friends in and around Cascade in his spare time. In 1997 he met the love of his life, Anne Bodle. They met at a grocery store where they were both working and were never apart again. They married at Disneyworld in 2000. She brought into his life her two daughters, Stephanie Seymour (Michael) and Sally Maxwell (Ken) together with three grandchildren, Andrea Seymour, Adisen Ragsdale, and Dailen Ragsdale. Dennis and Anne spent many years fishing and spending summers in Cascade. They travelled extensively, especially enjoying their trips to Florida.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and brother, Ron Dunn.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Anne; the daughters of his heart, Stephanie, Sally, and Crystal Dickson and her three daughters Nikki, Courtney, and Madison. His sisters, Lanna McCoy and Gwenn Burkhardt; and two nephews, Keith McGarry and Ronnie Dunn. He will be remembered by so many good friends who will all miss his wit, jokes, and companionship.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the VA Hospital in Boise, particularly Dr. Lange, for their exceptional care and help of the last several years.

Per his request, there will not be a service at this time.  When the weather is as warm as he enjoyed it, there will be a celebration of his life.
