Faye Sturgis, 91, passed away the evening of December 30, 2018 at a local Assisted Care center. She was born Paloma Faye Waltman, August 6, 1927 in Caldwell, Idaho to Virgil R. and Almeda Waltman.
She married Wayne W. Sturgis on September 11, 1945, upon his return from his service in the Navy during WWII. They remained service connected, and traveled from station to station throughout the years of Naval enlistment. Upon retirement from the service in 1962 they returned to Nampa to finish their 59 years of marriage. They had two children, a son, Kenneth W. Sturgis and a daughter, Billie Joann Sturgis (Burtlow).
She is survived by one brother, Richard Waltman; her daughter; a daughter-in law; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Eldon & Donald; and her son.
Her family is eternally grateful to her granddaughter, Lynn Sturgis, for the time and effort to make her last years more comfortable and easier, and seeing to her needs.
The family requests no flowers, but a donation to Nampa Pet Haven, West Valley Humane Society, or your favorite animal charity, in her name, would be greatly appreciated. She loved cats and would enjoy knowing they are being cared for.
