Ivy Joyce Rust

Ivy Joyce Rust, age 87, died in peace on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Streamside Assisted Living home in Nampa, Idaho. Joyce, as she preferred to be called, lived at Streamside the last year with her husband, William (Bill) K. Rust. Joyce is survived by her husband Bill; her two sons, Jordan and Loren; her two daughters-in-law, Rosy and Robbin; two grandchildren, Lyndsey and Kimberly; and two great grandchildren, Lyndsey's children, Grace and Ryder. Her sister, Belle, and brother, Joe, live in Ontario, Canada, close to their children and grandchildren.

Joyce was born near Toronto, Ontario, Canada and came to the United States as a young adult. She moved to Anchorage, Alaska and raised her two sons there. Joyce worked in local Anchorage banks and credit unions until she retired and moved to Nampa, Idaho with Bill. She loved her dog Scottie, flowers, and gardening more than any other activity, although she and Bill had been avid square dancers. They also loved to travel and did so throughout the United States and the world.

The internment will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise, Idaho. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Brethren, 11030 Orchard Avenue, Nampa, Idaho. Arrangements are being handled by Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho. The family asks that donations be given in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, alzfdn.org. Joyce passed from Alzheimer's disease at 87, just as her mother did.
