James “Jim” Edward Snapp Sr.
It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Snapp announce his passing.

James “Jim” Edward Snapp, 84, passed peacefully with his family at his side on September 17, 2018. Jim will be missed tremendously.

Jim was born May 29,1934 in Nampa, Idaho to John Snapp and Elizabeth Rollins.

Jim attended Nampa Senior High and graduated in 1954.

In 1959, Jim and Susan Pfaff were married. Jim and Susan had three children: James Edward Snapp Jr., Jayne Jo Snapp, and Christopher Jack Snapp. Jim and Susan divorced in 1965.

 

In 1953, Jim began a 35-year career with the City of Nampa Parks Department, 30 years as the Parks Supervisor and Assistant Director. Jim spent most of his career working with Wendell Christensen “Boss,” developing and maintaining the parks in Nampa. He greatly enjoyed working as the Assistant Director of the Parks Department and the many people he worked with over the years. He took great pride in keeping the parks in excellent condition for the people of Nampa to enjoy. Jim retired in 1989.

 

Following his retirement, Jim spent his years living a country life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and particularly enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hobbies and interests include camping, fishing, gardening, political discussion, and college football.

Jim is preceded in death by his brothers: Richard Snapp, Dean Snapp, Lynn Snapp, Marvin Snapp, and Bobby Kelchner; granddaughter, Anna Snapp.

Jim is survived by his three children: James Edward Snapp Jr., Jayne Snapp Jerome, and Chris Snapp (Crystal); his brothers: Mark Kelchner, and David Kelchner; two sisters: Betty Ogden, and Vidella Mae; six grandchildren: Barbie Stoss (Tim), Kaycee Reed, Kayla Reed, Caitlin Snapp, and Susan Snapp; eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in memory of Jim can be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or your favorite charity.
