JOEL EDWARD COOK

NAMPA – Joel E. Cook, 65, died of lung cancer July 27, 2021, at his home in Nampa, Idaho. He was born April 27, 1956, the son of Louis and Audrey Cook.

Joel graduated from Nampa High School, class of 1974. Following graduation, he started working at the Idaho Press Tribune and later was hired at the Idaho Statesman. Joel was an avid motorcycle rider and loved to share his favorite hobby with anyone that was interested. He also loved to catch sturgeon and hunt for arrowheads and other artifacts.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Billy. Joel is survived by his daughters, Jenny Hugi and her husband, Rick, of Boise, Sarah Cook of Nampa; his son, Joseph Cook and his wife, Chelsey, who are stationed in the United Kingdom; five grandchildren, Preston Stewart, Charley Smittle, Emry Cook, Aveah Cook, and Olivia Cook; two brothers, Bobby Cook and Jimmy Cook; many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 31 at 244 High St., Nampa, ID 83651.
