John Dirk Sikma, aged 88, born on September 29,1933 in Oskaloosa Iowa went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 4, 2022.  He was proceeded in death by his parents Louis and Anna Sikma of Ripon, CA; sisters Sadie Forest, and Joyce Levin of Ripon, CA, Dorothy Mullins of Sacramento, CA, and Lil Schwichtenberg of Merced, CA.  He is survived by his beloved wife Wilmina Sikma of 68 years; his children Louis Sikma of Homedale, ID and Janet Smallwood of Hilmar CA, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his brother Dick Sikma of Beaverton, OR, William Sikma of Ripon, CA and Johanna Roos of Sioux City, IA. 

He graduated from Ripon High School in 1952.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He met his bride in Handford, CA in 1953.  They were married on August 5, 1955.  During their marriage they farmed walnuts and almonds in Modesto, Ceres and Hilmar, CA.  John loved farming.  John also worked as a full time truck driver for over 45 years for Western Milk Transport, California Gold Dairy Products and Sunny Side Farms. 

John and Willie traveled throughout Europe, Australia, Mexico, Canada and all fifty states.  They had a summer home in Gold River, BC Canada for 22 years.  While in Canada they loved to fish, serve at their church, and play card games.  They were members of the Revelers senior group and served at various community functions.  John’s hobbies including traveling, fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

John’s love for the Lord and his life was a testimony to the many friends and family who knew and loved him.

An honorary Veterans Service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery, Boise ID on October 7, 2022.

Friends and family are invited to join the family in a celebration of his life at

10:00 a.m. October 8, 2022 at Grace Bible Church, 1415 Lone Star Road in Nampa Idaho.
