Joseph Valentine Schmigel III

Joseph Valentine Schmigel III, 61, of Caldwell, passed away on October 4, 2019 suddenly. Joe was born October 16, 1957 in Buffalo, NY. Joe met his wife Trish 30 years ago and they were married for 17 years. He has a stepson, Greg. Joe lived in Hawaii for eight years before moving to Idaho. Joe was a master plumber by trade and co-owner of JV Schmigel & Sons Plumbing & Heating in NY. He continued his trade as a plumber in Hawaii. Joe was the maintenance director at Karcher Estates here in Nampa. Joe was so well loved and respected by all at Karcher, ranging from the residents to staff members.

Joe loved all animals, especially his beloved, Thor. There was no animal – tame or wild – that didn’t love Joe. He loved traveling, being a biker, and his wife. Joe is survived by his wife, Trish; stepson, Greg; mother-in-law, Sharron Kilby; sister-in-law, Constance (Steve) Jackson; brother-in-laws, Richard (Lee) Kilby and Jeffrey (Marie) Kilby; and a brother and a sister.

He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Donald “The Big Guy” Kilby; both parents; and his grandparents.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651.
