Karolyn Kay Treat

Jesus took Kay home to be with him on December 11, 2018 at her home in Nampa. She was born November 19, 1945 in Boise, Idaho and was adopted by Charles and Frieda Maahs as a baby.

She grew up in Caldwell, Idaho and loved helping her dad on the farm. She also went with her mom to the neighborhood activities. In high school she enjoyed Grange Hall dances and spending time with friends.

She married Matt Leavitt in the fall of 1964 and graduated from high school in the spring of 1965. She worked alongside her husband in their upholstery shop for many year. They had one daughter and two sons. They divorced in December of 1977.

She was an avid bowler and loved to knit and crochet projects for loved ones and friends, a love she carried her whole life.

On July 14, 1978 she married Merle Treat. The family now had six children – four teenagers and two elementary age. Even though, at times, it was chaotic, the family melded and grew.

She worked for a nursing home and at Amalgamated Sugar for several years. She also worked alongside her husband in concrete business, helping pour concrete foundations until her health required her to stop working in 1998.

She spent her remaining years camping and hunting with her husband and family, loving her time with them in the Payette and Nez Pierce National Forests.

She is survived by her husband, Merle A. Treat; her children, Cindy (Leavitt) Butler, Renae (Treat) Silkwood, Steve Leavitt, Tammy (Treat) Silva, Allen Leavitt, Merla (Treat) Scott; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Christian Faith Center, 2422, 31 S. South Midland Blvd., Nampa, Idaho.
