Linda Diane Clayton

April 17, 1950 ~ March 8, 2024 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Tribute

In loving memory of Linda Diane Clayton, a beacon of joy, humor, and kindness, who left us on March 7, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on April 17, 1950, in Nampa, Idaho, to Frances Violet Allen and Ralph Wendell Allen, Linda's life was a testament to generosity, laughter, and the creation of beauty.

A Vallivue High School graduate of 1968, Linda embraced her passion for beauty and care as a cosmetologist and homemaker. She married Arny Clayton in 1982, sharing 28 years together until his passing.

Linda's spirit was characterized by her big heart, generosity, infectious humor, and youthful spirit. An animal lover, avid gardener, and beauty enthusiast, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and kept every letter and piece of art. In her later life, her greatest delight was in spoiling her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.

She leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love as a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Linda was preceded in death by her brother Thomas O. Allen, her daughter Angela M. Tafoya, her father Wendell, her husband Arnold, her brother Robert R. Allen, and her mother Frances.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter Lorinda (Christopher) Howe, son Alan (HuiJun) Schoenwald, step-daughters Lori Flohr and Lisa Ashfield, step-son Troy Clayton, and her beloved grandchildren Désirée Dorsainvil, J. Isaiah Buster,  Elise D. Schoenwald, Aldrich G. Schoenwald. She also leaves behind her sister-in-laws Judith Allen, Sandra Reynolds, niece and nephews Sonya Allen, Jereb Allen, Joseph Allen along with countless friends and family touched by her radiant spirit.

Please join us in celebrating Linda's life at a graveside service on March 16th at 10:30 am, at Lower Fairview Cemetery in Meridian, Idaho.

Linda's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet her warmth, laughter, and love remain with us. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to join us in honoring Linda's life and love for animals by contributing to the Idaho Humane Society.
