It was my delight knowing Rev. & Mrs. Burkhart while they pastored in Guyana, specifically in Bush Lot Village where my parents, Edward and Lucy Bissoon, lived. They were often in our home when they made the weekend trip from Georgetown to Bush Lot to hold services for the new church plant.
They were a blessing to many, many people while they ministered in Guyana.

Pete and family--
As I read of Meryle's passing, I am remembering with gratitude the influence both of you had in my life during the two summers of service in Guyana. I enjoyed being in your home, traveling with you, and sharing in the fellowship of your family. Our paths have not often crossed, but I remain grateful for your service to Christ and the church as well as for your hospitality extended to this college kid in 1970 and 1971. May God bless and comfort all of you in your loss and be with you on your journey forward! Warm regards, Don
