Steven Paul Tygart

October 21, 1950 ~ November 23, 2018 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Tribute

His name was Steven Paul Tygart. They say he wanted to be a mountain man. The story goes that he was a man of proper wit and adventurous spirit suited to the mountains. Steven was born in Joplin, MO on October 21, 1950 to Paul and Margie Tygart. They made their way out west to California where he grew up. He had two younger siblings, SueAnn (Roger) Vanote and Richard Tygart.

He packed up and moved himself to Idaho to study at NNC and BSU. He met his wife, Teresa at this time and had three beautiful children; Jessica, Kerri and Matthew Tygart. They moved to Lander, Wyoming in the summer of ’88 and lived there for many years. He taught history and art at the reservation and at the local high school. He and mom felt a calling to move back to Idaho in 2003 where he lived out his remaining days teaching, painting and taking naps with his kitty, Snickers.

He loved his grandkids with all his heart; Haylin, Caidon, Lillian and Solomon Tygart and Eli Morris and also his son and daughter-in-law, Josh Morris and Candace Tygart. We will miss his laughter, his hugs and kisses, but we will see him again soon. He told his Ma and Pa he was going to the mountains to be a mountain man. The Rocky Mountains are the marrow of the world. Keep your nose in the wind and your eyes along the skyline.
