William R. "Bob" Wilkerson, Sr.

William R. Wilkerson Sr., "Bob" was born February 5, 1941, and was born and raised in Nampa, Idaho. Bob is the third child born to Earl and Margaret Wilkerson. He attended Nampa Senior High, class of 1959. On August 3, 1959 Bob married the love of his life, Imogene E. Reizenstein, “Jeannie”. In their union they had 3 children, Rob Wilkerson Jr., Roger Wilkerson, and Rhonda Petersen. Bob was a role model for his family and people who knew him. On April 21, 1962 Bob began his career with the Nampa Fire Department.  He worked as a firefighter for 25 years, retiring on April 21, 1987. During that time, he was trained as an EMT providing Emergency Medical Assistance on calls. He ran his business, Wilkerson’s Carpet Installation part-time for 16 years. After retirement he helped Jeannie with Jeannie’s Bridal Lace and Fabric for 34 years. He enjoyed taking his family on yearly vacations, when the grandkids were old enough they often accompanied him on buying trips to California. He also owned and took care of his other properties; including the 20-acre farm in Homedale. He was full of life and enjoyed teaching his children how to camp, hunt, fish and enjoy the outdoors. He loved to build things with his hands, collect guns and old coins. Bob and Floyd restored his 1956 F100 in 2009. He frequently competed in classic car shows and won many awards. Bob was a hard-working man. He was our rock, mentor and so much more. On July 19, 2019, Bob lost his 6-month battle with pancreatic cancer surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeannie and his children, Rob (wife Lesli), Roger and Rhonda; his grandchildren, Shawnisti, Vanessa, Brian, Natasha and Zachary; and numerous great-grandchildren, and his brother, Richard.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margaret Wilkerson and his brothers, Earl and Danny.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, ID 83651 with a procession to Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell for burial.
