Debbie, Janell and family;
Ed had shared his problem but I had put the thought someplace else! His passing certainly triggers some great memories (and struggles!) What a classic optimist farmer and Dad, he represented to me. Before I knew him in class: the classic story he created by refusing to sell his pigs "at a loss" the same day he said he would come to class! But he had come, pigs and all and parked in the parking lot for a short time. The next Sunday, the Lutherans in Council bought the majority of the pigs! The rest, we spread frozen pork all the way from Council to Nampa! One more story, never told: a friendly State Trooper who lived in Indian Valley, saw white packages being swapped from one tailgate to another! He still remembers "how that looked" in his patrol for drugs!
Ed leaves me with a sadness and a smile. His legacy, certainly is the latter! Proud of you all for the pride you bring to agriculture!
